What Is Reiki?

Reiki is an energy modality that originated in Japan in the late 1800's.
Certified Reiki practitioners have the capacity to channel universal life force energy through their hands to promote the flow of energy in and around the body.
Although you can not see the electrical current of your heart, it exists.

Why Reiki?

Stagnant energy in the body due to physical and emotional trauma can lead to physical and emotional illness.
Reiki is a tool that can be used via one on one reiki sessions to help promote self- awareness and re-alignment.

What Can I expect at Mojave Reiki?

We are all Unique
Confidentiality and Non-Judgement are honored during our time together. There is nothing special that you have to "Do" during a Reiki session, besides relax and be open to receive.
~This time is for you~

At the start of the session we will briefly chat about what brought you in.
It could be as simple as health maintenance and relaxation, or as complex as a recent death of a loved one,  breakup, or challenging health diagnosis. The intention for each session is always for the energy to flow for your best and highest good. I will always meet you where you are,
and clear any chakra blockages prior to running energy.

How to Prep For a Session

During a Reiki session, you will be fully clothed. Please wear comfortable garmets that you will not feel the need to adjust/ be distracted by.
Think comfy clothing :)  Reiki does not involve massage. No prior experience is necessary, only a willingness to be open minded.

Who Can Benefit

Reiki can be used for general wellness as well as specific life events.
Reiki works by assisting to reduce stress through the activation
of the parasympathetic nervous system,
which in turn may create an environment within the body where healing may be more easily facilitated.
In my practice, I have had great results with clients in working with problems related to specific life traumas, and chronic stress.
Reiki may be effective with people who suffer from chronic headaches, insomnia, and problems of fatigue.
Reiki is sometimes used as an adjunct to certain medical conditions such as high blood pressure, anxiety, and stress
but should Never Be A Replacement for routine medical care by a physician.

Client/ Practitioner Expectations

The first session begins with a brief interview and Intake form.
You will be asked a series of questions so that the session can be tailored to your needs.
Please keep in mind that privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times. I subscribe to the IARP Code of Ethics.

A reiki session is performed on a massage table, and you are always fully clothed.
If you indicate in the interview, or at the beginning of the session that you wish for me to concentrate on a particular injury or issue I will also concentrate on that area during the session.
You are encouraged to relax and inform me if anything makes you uncomfortable, either physically or psychologically.

Please feel free to talk with me regarding feedback during the session.
I often will talk with you before & after but
usually not during as I want you to relax fully during the session.
If something feels uncomfortable during the session, however,
please speak up immediately.

What Happens After I Receive Reiki?

After the session, you will want to drink plenty of water, similar to hydrating after a full body massage.
We will discuss your experience during the session.   Most clients find Reiki to be extremely relaxing because Reiki works with the parasympathetic nervous system to help the body reach a state where it can heal itself physically and emotionally.
